New opportunity not to be missed! ABI Support Services has an exciting opportunity for a Care Team Leader to join the team based in Milton Keynes. Joining us on a full time permament basis, you will receive a rate of £9.16 per hour.

We are a well established, expanding organisation that provides care and support to people with learning difficulties who may present with behaviour described as challenging.

As our Care Team Leader, you will assist the Manager in leading and managing the service or part of the service through

- Leading good practice in service user support

- Service planning and implementation

- Development and implementation of person centred plans

- Implementation of active support

Key responsibilities of the Care Team Leader

- To assist the manager in leading good practice and developing excellence in service user support and to assist the Manager in implementing active support within the service base

- To assist the manager in drawing up and implementing the Person Centred Service Plan, based upon the needs and wishes of the service users, and the requirements of funders

- To be fully responsible for the efficient operation of a part of the service based upon company values and standards and to take overall responsibility for the quality of life of the service users

- To lead the practical development of the staff team in respect of excellent professional practice

- To support service users to develop relationships in their community and to represent the service externally on behalf of the company

- To take responsibility for the development, implementation and review of Person Centred Support for service users, involving users themselves, carers and other parties as appropriate

- To maintain financial and administrative records for the service and to provide information and reports on operational matters as required

- To assist the Service Manager in managing the service budget efficiently

- To assist the Manager in the recruitment and development of the staff team, staff consultation processes, to be responsible for the deployment of the staff team through agreed rotas and staffing plans and to directly line manage Support Workers and administrative staff as necessary

- To assist the Manager in providing opportunities for staff to achieve NVQs/LDAF

- To assist the Manager in drawing up, implementing and reviewing risk assessments for service users and staff to ensure their health, safety and welfare is paramount at all times

- To take part in the on-call service on a rota basis

- To carry out any other duties commensurate with the general level of responsibility of the post

Skills, knowledge and experience required by the Care Team Leader

- Recognised qualification (NVQ 3 or above or equivalent)

- Minimum of 3 years experience working with people with learning difficulties (1 year in supervisory)

- Driver (1 years experience) (Desirable)

- GCSE standard of education

- Experience of Person Centred Planning, Supported Living, “Valuing People” and challenging behaviour

- Experience of management training

- Awareness of registration requirements

- Knowledge of relevant legislation e.g. Health and Safety at Work Act

- Experience of supervising staff, and undertaking supervisions and appraisals

- Good understanding of person centred planning

- Understanding of equal opportunities and anti discriminatory practice

- Knowledge of LDAF
