The White Horse Care Trust has an exciting opportunity to fill Support Worker vacancies at our residential services near Hungerford and the surrounding area. Successful candidates will join us on a full time, part time and bank basis. We are offering the Support Worker a competitive salary of up to £7.70 per hour; plus Sunday and Bank Holiday enhanced pay and an additional payment of £50 for a sleep-in.

The White Horse Care Trust is a Wiltshire-based care charity dedicated to providing a range of residential and nursing care services to adults with learning and other physical disabilities in several locations across the county.

They are now growing the team and are looking to recruit experienced / non-experienced individuals that have previously worked as a Carer / Support Worker. You will work with individuals with learning disabilities in a residential service either local to Hungerford or Marlborough or Pewsey. The Trust is seeking to appoint Full-Time, Part Time and also Bank Support Workers, who are able to offer flexibility and a willingness to work weekends and Bank holidays.

About the Support Worker role

This is an excellent opportunity to develop your career in social care and to work with an organisation that is committed to transforming lives and making a difference.  Previous experience of working with adults with learning disabilities, whilst beneficial, is not essential as full training will be given. Applicants must be willing to work in a respectful and patient manner, whilst understanding residents’ individual needs and promoting independence.

Full Induction and Training Packages are in place to support new staff, with the opportunity to further training including the Health Care Level 2 or Level 3 Diploma.

What skills do I need to have to become a Support Worker?

- Ability to use their own initiative and work unsupervised, but also be happy to be part of the team.

- Have good verbal & written communication skills.

- Some flexibility in working hours are required as these services support clients over 24hours, including Saturdays, Sundays and Bank Holidays.

- A full UK Driving Licence will be required for full time positions as these are located in rural location.
