Due to the continuous growth my client wishes to appoint an experienced Legal Assistant to join Contentious Trusts and Probate team based in Chichester.

The Role

This is an exciting opportunity to develop your skills within an established and innovative Family Team. This role will involve working closely with partners and fee earners, providing them with a comprehensive, efficient, accurate secretarial and administrative service.

You will be responsible, for arranging meetings, conferences and client interviews organising fee earner diaries and giving administrative support to the team.

Liaising with Clients face-to-face and over the telephone; assisting with queries and arranging appointments to see fee-earners.

Dealing with the team's business development expenses and assisting with business development arrangements generally. Assisting the partners with their non-client related work such as external and internal committees.

Word processing all legal correspondence including Court proceedings, minutes and seminar notes. You will be required to produce general letters, court documents, attendance notes; Excel spread sheets, web forms, and any other documentation.

You will also have a great deal of responsibility for completing all related administration and filing to ensure that files are maintained in good order.

You will be working in a busy environment and will need to handle a heavy workload - therefore it is essential that you have excellent organisational skills and are capable of using your own initiative.

In addition, you will be dealing with client telephone calls so a good telephone manner and the confidence to deal with a wide range of people will be important and possess excellent audio typing skills with typing speeds of at least 65 wpm and good GCSE's/O Level passes including Maths and English.

This role is team based therefore preference to team working is essential.
The ideal candidate should have proven experience working within a similar role in a law firm.
