Would you like to join a team of professionals supporting young parents and offering the chance for families to stay together?
Our client is looking for candidates with health and social care experience able to work with families to develop and nurture parenting skills in a home environment.
A rewarding and enjoyable opportunity has arisen for individuals who are passionate about having a positive impact on children's lives. Our client is looking to recruit resilient Family Carers to look after a parent and child for a fixed period - usually 12 to 24 weeks.
You will provide a safe place for a parent and child to live and a positive, nurturing environment for the parent to develop their parenting skills and gain confidence.
To do this you will need the space in your own home to accommodate a parent and their baby. During this time, you will be observing, developing and nurturing parenting skills to give the best chance of the family unit staying together.
This is the perfect opportunity for someone who has experience working with young adults, parents and families, has an understanding of safe guarding and be comfortable working alongside a team of other professionals.
In addition to offering emotional support, stability and guidance within the home environment you will be required to attend and actively contribute in case meetings and reviews. Specialist training will be given along with the opportunity to continually develop and gain additional skills.
Essential criteria for the role:
A suitable space within the home for a parent and child(ren) to live during a time limited period usually determined by the court
Time to devote to the parent and child(ren) i.e. no work commitments outside the home
The patience and ability to allow the young person to develop parenting skills
Experience working with young adults and/or young children
Ability to write detailed reports
Car Owner with full driving licence
If you are passionate about helping families in our community and developing their confidence in parenting, we would love to hear from you.
