A large, popular, charity ran nursery in the Bramley area of Leeds are now recruiting for a Nursery Officer to take on a room leader/senior role starting as soon as possible. The successful candidate will work full time on varied shift patterns with children aged 2 to 3. You will work under supervision of the Room Supervisor and the Nursery Manager and play a key part in the day to day running of the room and the Nursery, helping to ensure there is a positive and safe environment for the children at all times.

Flexibility is key for this role and you must have confidence in leading activities and managing challenging behaviour.

The main responsibilities for this role are:

To plan effective activities for children of all abilities
To observe, monitor and provide constructive feedback on children's progress
To understand the roles of parents and carers in children's learning and demonstrate ability to liaise with parents and carers sensitively and effectively
To work independently as well as part of a team
To work creatively
To provide necessary personal care to children
To develop their knowledge through the evaluation of their own learning needs;
To organise, lead and motivate a team, and work well as part of it
To demonstrate very good numeracy and literacy skills
