Tamar Energy has an exciting opportunity for a Recycling Operator to join the team based in Swanley. You will be on a full time permanent contract, with a highly competitive salary of £9 per hour.
Our Swanley site processes green waste and turns it into a high quality compost end product. This involves processing the waste using various mobile plant machinery including telehandlers, excavators, shredders and screeners. The compost is shredded into finer particles and is then turned, watered, reprocessed and managed to break down over a 10-14 week cycle until we are left with our high quality compost.
This role as our Recycling Operator will focus on hands-on tasks operating the machinery and managing and processing the green waste through the compost process. Daily checks and performing maintenance of machinery is an essential and regular task. Our main priority on all of our sites is health and safety so having the right attitude towards this and an awareness of health and safety on site and in your work is very important to us. The ability to use a computer will be an advantage. This position may in the future also operate other machinery.0
Our customers to the site include local small businesses, larger waste management companies and local councils. As a leading organics business environmental compliance is also a key consideration and our teams work to ensure we’re creating a great product whilst acting responsibly towards the environment. Our Recycling Operator would be well-suited to candidates looking for a hands-on role involving a mix of operating machinery and performing some maintenance. Previous experience of operating mobile plant machinery is essential, full training will be provided on the job for shredders and screeners.
