SEN Learning Support Assistant
We are currently recruiting for a supply special needs teaching assistant within a SEN school in Bath. We require someone that is adaptable, confident and ideally experienced with working with pupils with special educational needs. The school caters for a large number of students with a statement of Special Educational needs, with a wide range of abilities across the student population. High standards are expected from the pupils and the staff so that pupils can achieve their full potential.
You will be required to support the permanent school team to fill staffing gaps, providing sickness and holiday cover between Monday -Friday, up to 5 days per week.
Candidates will need to have previous experience with working with students with SEN, such as; Autism, Aspergers, Down Syndrome and challenging behaviour. Some students will have communication difficulties so experience using alternative communication methods such as; Makaton, Pecs or Signalong is useful.
