United Response is a leading national charity providing support to young people and adults with learning disabilities and mental health needs.  We believe in championing the right of disabled people to live, work, socialise and participate in the community, free of discrimination and unnecessary boundaries.

Who we are looking for

We need reliable and passionate people to join our close-knit team of Support Workers, supporting a gentleman out in the community, as well in his own home.  You’ll help him cook, clean, pay bills, apply for jobs, make friends and a thousand things in between. The gentleman enjoys his routines of walking along the pier, feeding the swans, going for long rides on his bike, viewing new cars in the car showroom, among other activities. The gentleman is looking for members of staff who can assist him in accessing his at home Gymnasium he has at his own home. The gentleman is very active and has a fantastic sense of humor, and is looking for staff who share similar interests to him. 

Not got any experience? 

Don’t worry!  Those new to care will be fully supported.  Our comprehensive training programme offers everyone – regardless of previous knowledge and experience – the chance to create a career they can be proud of.   

What we need from you

You need compassion, integrity and to treat people with dignity and respect.  You need to be reliable because people are depending on you, be able to travel between locations and work flexibly, including evenings, weekends and overnight as needed.  You also need to be a great communicator, both verbally and in writing and have basic IT and numerical skills.
