We're seeking a Geography teacher for a school in Manchester. The school are looking for an experienced and innovative teacher to join a forward thinking school. The school are happy to receive applications from NQT's.

Overview of duties:

To work closely with the Head of Humanities to provide students with the very best learning experiences.

You will also be expected to contribute to the growth of this core subject area, being responsible for providing support, guidance and motivation to teaching staff and Learning Support Assistants.

You must also be able to contribute and share ideas and strategies that impact on classroom learning.

Specific Responsibilities:

Planning, preparation and delivery of curriculum

Providing engaging and interactive lessons

Communicating with parents and carers over pupils progress and participating in departmental meetings, parents' evenings and whole school training events

Participating in and organising extracurricular activities, such as outings, social activities and sporting events

Preparing pupils for qualifications and external examinations



Teaching experience of Geography to Key Stages 3 & 4

A degree in Geography or an appropriate related subject

Exemplary behaviour management and the resilience to overcome barriers to learning

Many students speak English as an additional language (EAL) so previous experience of working with these students will be advantageous.

Excellent organisational skills

An ability to promote effective teaching and learning

Enthusiasm, commitment and flexibility

Additional Information:

You must have experience of teaching Geography to 11-16 year olds in the UK. Unfortunately, due to our strict compliance criteria, we are unable to consider applications if you haven't.

You must also live in the North-West area and be able to commute to Manchester on a daily basis.
