Senior Finance Analyst

Leighton Buzzard, Bedfordshire

Up to £53,000 – depending on experience.   

B/E Aerospace, in Leighton Buzzard, is the sole supplier of galleys and trolley compartments for the Airbus A350. Our business is rapidly expanding and ramping up as the new aircraft enters production and with the impact of this programme alone means that production rates will increase from typically one ship-set per month to 13 per month. This will be sustained for at least the next ten years, with further programmes expecting to be added to the portfolio.  If you want to be part of a major strategic programme, then this could be the opportunity for you.

Reporting to the Finance Director, the Senior Finance Analyst will be required to lead the FP&A and costing team with responsibility of supporting Leighton Buzzard and Toulouse operations, assessing financial performance and incorporating latest assumptions into the monthly financial forecasts

Nature of work for the Senior Finance Analyst:

  • Production of monthly financial forecast, variance analysis, management accounts and functional spending analysis
  • Business Partner with commercial, programs and operations to support new business appraisal and business growth/development plans
  • Business Partner with operations team to support weekly S&OP reviews to ensure that the monthly forecasting process incorporates latest information
  • Develop costing systems to improve margin analysis at a product and product line level
  • Develop and enforce operating control environments with a focus on transactional integrity
  • Working closely with program management and engineering to develop requirement driven approach to engineering resource planning. Support engineering time capture solution and utilization analysis
  • Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet review to ensure costs are appropriately accrued and classified correctly through management reporting. Support accounting with supporting documentation for balance sheet reconciliations and compliance activities
  • Support sensitivity analysis and opportunity & risk register updates
  • Managing forecast versions within the financial consolidation system
  • Continuous development of financial models and profitability analysis to align to business requirement
  • Adherence to the monthly financial timetable ensuring accurate and timely production of financial information and reporting packages incorporating latest business, segment and corporate reporting requirements
  • Work proactively with the business to identify opportunities and initiatives for cost reduction and margin expansion
  • Support internal and external audit requirements
  • Supervision of up to 3 analysts including;  day-to-day direction, performance management and professional development
  • Ad-hoc analysis as required
  • Any other reasonable duties

What you need in becoming the successful Senior Finance Analyst:

  • Qualified Accountant (CIMA, ACA or ACCA) or equivalent
  • Experience in financial forecasting and month end closing activities to tight deadlines
  • Strong analytical and organisational skills with an eye for detail
  • Strong excel skills including excel based financial modelling experience
  • Experience within a manufacturing environment
