Engineering Tutor - Electrical
(Burton on trent area)
GBP25,856 - GBP33,752 plus teacher's pension pro rata
Part Time - 18.5 hours per week
Occupational Competence: Engineering - including Electrical, Mechanical and Technical Maintenance up to Level 3 and knowledge of NVQ systems and operations.
Fab Recruitment is currently looking to recruit an Electrical Engineering Tutor for a local Higher and Vocational Education provider. Candidates must be tutor qualified to HND/Degree level with industry and ideally with FE teaching experience to help deliver a range of engineering programmes. Experience of delivering high quality lessons and an enthusiasm to see our learners achieve results mean you will be self-motivated and thrive on hard work.
You will develop and teach on a range of provision in the Engineering curriculum area for first and second year level 3 students.
KEY EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
• Degree or equivalent
• Certificate in Education
• Minimum level 2 in literacy and numeracy
• Proven teaching experience in FE context
• Ability to work to tight deadlines
• Proven CPD
• Degree in relevant subject area (Electrical Engineering)
• Industry knowledge and experience (Electrical Engineering)
• Experience of Moodle or VLE
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES;
Day to day Course Leadership including:
• Promote and develop innovative learning, assessment and teaching
• Develop learning and ILT materials to support and enhance the students' learning, attainment, achievement, success and assessment of their work
• Monitor individual students', groups' and course(s)' performance and identify appropriate support
• Attend regular course team meetings, assessment meetings and IV moderation meetings
• Assist with the co-ordination and organisation of work placements
• Continually develop the curriculum content and provision and, where appropriate, course approval
• Actively participate in course marketing, recruitment, attendance and retention
• Recruit with integrity, following the College's IAG to guide and support students to achieve their full potential
• Undertake APL assessment, which includes claims for proxies
• Assist with the annual programme, course review and evaluation
• Continually embed literacy and numeracy (ICT, functional, key and core skills) into curriculum delivery, and identify assessment opportunities
• Timetabling of courses to enhance the student experience
• Continuous development of own knowledge and skills, teaching practises and qualifications
COMPLEXITY
Course Leadership and Management of students, learning, assessment, attendance, retention, achievement, success, and progression, and contribute to course team meetings; including all aspects of quality assurance, in line with College and awarding body guidelines, policies and procedures
