Senior Business Manager / Operations Manager

Location: Hastings/Chertsey, East Sussex

£36,771 + Benefits

Our client has over 400 employees operating out of 50 locations throughout the UK. In order to maintain their excellent service they rely on the quality of the people who work for them and their people are fundamental to the company's overall success.

As part of their business strategy, the Company will be delivering new contract service provisions within a number of locations for two prime contractors. As a result of this they are now recruiting for an Operations Manager, known formally within the organisation as Senior Business Manager, to facilitate the efficient and effective delivery of these contracts.

The main purpose of the provisions will be to support individuals who are furthest from the labour market, including those who may have been unemployed for some time. Our client will provide support for both benefit claimants and those people of working age who are not claiming benefits,

The Role:

To seek to identify areas for continuous improvement through creativity and flexibility. To oversee the management of and to maintain the level of service as detailed within the provisions of each contract delivered, whilst ensuring that all documentation is fully compliant with the requirements of the relevant contracting body. Reporting to Director/Head of relevant business area you will:

  • Ensure maximum performance and achievement of all contract delivery requirements at each Centre within the Region through effective management of Business Managers, Team Leaders and other staff as appropriate
  • Achieve Quality and Performance Targets within agreed budget to support continued growth
  • Support ROD to formulate an annual budget for the region to contribute to the annual budget
  • Use techniques to implement, monitor, analyse and influence performance towards contract and budgetary requirements with Business Managers and/or other Staff
  • Strategic Planning to ensure the effectiveness of all service strategies and that budgetary requirements are met
  • Monitoring activities to ensure contractual compliance, performance and quality of service is continuously improved in each Centre
  • Conduct regular planned meetings with Business Managers and Team Leaders
  • Meet with the ROD/Operations Director on to plan and review progress towards KPI’s and discuss any changes to company policies or practices
  • Provide ongoing coaching and mentoring to all staff within the Region
  • Conduct regular personal reviews with Business Managers to build capability and address areas affecting performance
  • Develop relationships in the region with local Jobcentre Plus staff, other contracting body contacts, local communities and other key stakeholders to drive business development and growth
  • Identify, pursue and develop opportunities for partnership working with organisations based or working in the region
  • Represent APM at DWP contract monitoring visits, OFSTED Inspections and meetings with other bodies as required
  • Other duties, as directed from time to time
