Skills/Experience:
Working knowledge of electrical systems in an aerospace environment.
Experience in the use of design tools and CAD software preferable but not essential.
Familiarity with the typical EASA DOA procedures and working practices.
Familiarity with ISO9001 (ISO9100) working practices.
Numerate and computer literate.

Qualifications:
Minimum 4 year Degree and typical experience in engineering discipline to be recognized as a Subject Matter Expert desirable.
Ability to travel for mentoring and/or customer interface, sometimes at short notice.
Any foreign language abilities potentially advantageous and should be specified on application.

Job Description:

Responsible for Avionics System Integration Design, working as a small team and reporting directly to the System Manager. Responsible for undertaking the electrical/avionic design of aircraft equipment, systems and components plus the design associated with their installation into aircraft, in accordance with the technical requirements and the Statement of Work specified within the scope of the contract agreed with the customer, to meet the performance needs stated in the Technical Specification and ensuring compliance with civil and military airworthiness requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
Carry out analysis and interpretation of client/customer requirements/technical specifications of aircraft equipment, components and systems and ensuring their successful integration onto aircraft.
Develop electrical / avionic system designs.
Produce electrical / avionic drawings and wiring diagrams.
Specify electrical/avionic design systems interfaces compatible with the installation requirements.
Define equipment, components, systems and installations specified to enable system testing, fault finding prior to installation and certification.
Write test schedules and reports
Advise the design office on mechanical requirements aspects of electrical / avionic designs
Support the production of flight test and ground test schedules and reports.
Participate as a Design Office Team member in collaboration with the Workshop and Project Office and external suppliers in delivering equipment, components and systems to meet the Technical Specification.
Delivery of the required technical solution to meet the schedule and manhour budget agreed in the Statement of Work under the supervision of the Senior Electrical / Avionics Designer.
Conform to the procedures, processes and standards defined by the Head of Design to meet the Technical Specification.
Participate in reporting technical progress associated with achieving the programme milestones.
Support the provision of timely, economic, design solutions.
Other duties to support company as and when mutually agreed with the Line Manager.
