Portfolio Manager - Leeds
Experienced Portfolio Manager required for leading UK Property Management company – role will be based at their offices in the city of Leeds.
The Role
The successful candidate will lead an established team to effectively manage a portfolio of clients/properties (2,500 unit). You will deal mostly with residential properties, ensuring that working practices are understood, implemented and adhered to.
You will review the performance of the team, setting objectives and targets to achieve maximum performance. You will ensure that key performance targets are met in respect of arrears, voids and expenditure.
You will meet with clients and carry out site visits when appropriate.
Ensuring customer satisfaction is key. You will ensure the highest level of service is provided to both internal and external clients, minimizing complaints. Should a complaint arise, you will manage these to completion.
You will ensure SLAs are adhered to and issues raised by clients, tenants or third parties are dealt with effectively. Following on from this you should ensure that processes are evaluated and potentially changed.
As you will manage a team, the Portfolio Manager will be responsible for ensuring personnel issues such as leave, sickness and any areas of concern are managed effectively. Leading by example, you will set the standard by demonstrating a positive attitude, high standard of work and attendance. You will ensure new starters are inducted and that both new and existing staff have had adequate instruction of working practices and are adhering to these. You will provide advice to the team in respect of legal issues, statutory requirements, complex maintenance, arrears, etc.
The Person
Ideally, you will have a background in residential property management, either within a corporate environment or Lettings Company. You should be able to demonstrate excellent knowledge of the private rental sector. You will ideally hold a lettings or residential management qualification, such as an NFOPP.
As you will have responsibility for a team we need you to have experience as a confident hand on manager including building and motivating a team, delegating tasks and carrying out staff development. You will take ownership and accountability for your work and that of the team.
You should have property and client management experience with the ability to build and develop good working relationships. The ability to remain calm in potentially difficult or sensitive situations both in person or on the phone is essential for this post.
The company is a constantly evolving environment keen to ensure best practise and streamline process. You should be able to identify and implement improvements in line with their SLA’s.
You should have experience in producing reports with strong numerical and literacy skills.
As you may sometimes need to visit properties a valid driving license is preferable.
The Rewards
In return you will receive a base salary of £35k to £40k (dep on exp) + comprehensive benefits package.
