Reporting to the Chief Executive, the Head of Finance, a member of the senior management team, will lead and manage the Finance Department, to ensure the organisation is financially viable and will play a strategic role in the overall vision and long term sustainability of the hospice and subsidiary organisations, in line with the under pinning ethos and core values of the organisation. The candidate will be required to contribute to policy, service delivery and development of Oakhaven.

Salary circa GBP50,000 per annum

Oakhaven Hospice serves the community of the New Forest, providing in-patient, day hospice and community care for patients with life limiting illnesses and support to their families/carers.

The successful candidate will ensure the careful stewardship of resources through proactive and effective financial systems, reporting and controls and compliance with legislative and statutory requirements.

With a professional qualification and membership of a recognised accountancy body, the successful candidate must have substantial experience and strategic capability within a financial setting with proven managerial/leadership experience.

You will have excellent people management and communication skills with the ability to build and nurture key relationships and partnerships in line with the ethos of Oakhaven. Excellent organisational skills with advanced IT skills in MS Office and a good working knowledge of accounting software are essential.

You will also be numerate and logical with the ability to research, analyse and interpret complex information. Charity finance experience is not essential but an understanding of this would be desirable.

You will have significant autonomy in this role and the opportunity to develop it in response to changes in the both the organisation's needs and statutory funding mechanisms.
