Project People are currently recruiting for a Commercial Finance Analyst on behalf of a national organisation based in the Thames Valley. Reporting into the Finance Manager, the overall purpose of this role is to take responsibility for the production and analysis of annual, quarterly and monthly forecasts for various areas. You will be a strong communicator; being required to liaise and forge strong relationships with various business partners.

Key Responsibilities:

* Take ownership of of the budgeting and forecasting process which will involve producing rolling annual, quarterly and in-month margin forecasts.
* Collaborate with P&L teams, as well as other business areas, in order to understand key profitability drivers, and customer base drivers. Furthermore, you will be required to incorporate these findings into forecast models, and to produce an underlying run rate performance on a weekly basis for each P&L.
* Business partner with key colleagues from Sales and Marketing and Commercial Finance teams to fully understand business plans/initiatives. These will also be incorporated into forecasts.
* Identify the difference between performance and growth initiatives.
* Develop a solid understanding of the actual v forecast variances and incorporate any impacts into rolling forecasts.
* Identify and provide insight into any relevant growth opportunities, as well as any risk areas.
* Communicate forecasts to the Finance Manager, as well as the reasoning for the forecast variances.
* Communicate key areas of risk or opportunity to the Finance Manager, as well to the wider business when appropriate.
* Ad-hoc support to the Finance Manager and Head of FP&A as and when is necessary.

Required skills and experience:

* Qualified accountant (CIMA/ACA/ACCA).
* Solid experience of forecasting and margin.
* Strong commercial awareness.
* Proven Business Partnering skills.
* Excellent Microsoft Office skills- Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
* Highly analytical.
* Strong influencing skills.
* Self motivated.
