£23,500 to £25,000 per annum (depending on experience)

Permanent, 37 hours per week

Our client is a vibrant social enterprise operating a large and well equipped wood workshop in Oxford. They design, create and manufacture a range of wooden products and, in that process, enable people from disadvantaged backgrounds to develop skills, gain self-esteem and increase their employment opportunities. They are part of another company – a large mental health charity.

They are looking for somebody to, with the support of the management team, organise, direct and take ownership of all jobs and production going through their workshop. You’ll be hands-on with sufficient joinery/carpentry/woodwork skills to produce items yourself/with team members, as well as passing on skills/upskilling as you work.

You’ll understand how to set up the team and workshop for the production of lines as well as making one off bespoke projects. You’ll be managing a great team, with varied levels of skills and abilities, and making sure all our customer orders are delivered on time and to the right quality standards. You’ll be proud of your work and have a real belief that lives can change, no matter a person’s background.

Working closely with the Operations Team, you'll specify material/timber orders needed for production and make sure all machinery and tools are suitably maintained.
