Our client is a very reputable and progressive insurance company with an established market presence. They have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Commercial Insurance Account Manager with PI experience, for a vacancy that offers a lucrative package and genuine career progression.

You must be a confident and target driven relationship developer with Proven Commercial Insurance and Professional Indemnity experience. Knowledge of Medical Malpractice would be a huge advantage.

The successful applicant would be required to act as an operational leader within the business and will be given autonomy to drive and grow the Professional Indemnity / Medical Malpractice portfolio. Quality service is paramount so candidates must have excellent listening skills and be able to understand and deliver to individual customer needs in order to maintain the excellent reputation of the business. You will also be training, advising and developing support staff. Therefore previous experience of team leadership or training is beneficial.

Applicants must have previous Commercial Insurance experience and preferably have insurance qualifications (Cert CII or similar). The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years Commercial Insurance and Professional Indemnity experience.

The successful applicant will receive a lucrative salary, which is negotiable and subject to experience.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

• Dealing with Individual Doctors and GP Practices, GP Clusters, Federations and possibly CCG's for Medical Malpractice. This will form a mix of both self-generation and existing client relationships
• Dealing with Individual Nurses, Dentists and Dental Practices for Professional Indemnity
• Dealing with individual pharmacists, Pharmacies for Professional Indemnity
• The role will require a mix of both self-generation and managing existing client relationships
• Preparing, issuing and reviewing new business documentation to Direct clients
• Undertaking telephone-based quotes with prospective clients (approximately 6-8 per day) pre-arranged by an appointment booker.
• Follow up calls to clients to chase decisions, progress of quote etc.
• Overcoming objections and promoting the key selling features of the available products.
• Minor levels of administration and issue of new business documentation
• Cross selling of company products from to clients where appropriate
• Answering telephone based policy enquiries from existing clients.
• Liaising with underwriters and insurers to negotiate the best possible terms for clients at new business stage
• Operating under delegated authority from insurers
• Being the first point of contact for your existing clients, acting as client liaison.
• Database management of prospective and converted leads.

Required Skills:

• Knowledge of Professional Indemnity is essential, experience of Medical Malpractice would be advantageous
• Excel, Outlook and Word competent
• Professional telephone manner
• Commission/target driven with previous sales experience
• Team player and leader with strong work ethic, ability to motivate others and overcome objections
• Previous new business experience
• Ability to work independently, using personal judgement whilst operating within specific guidelines when reviewing underwriting terms and premiums.
• Excellent time management and ability to prioritise workload
• A good understanding of medical malpractice
• Cert CII qualified or higher (Desirable)
