As the Credit Control Manager you will be responsible for the operational management of the Credit Control team; ensuring that adequate systems and processes are in place and the team chase outstanding debts on a daily basis by letter, telephone and email in accordance with set credit control procedures
Job Responsibilities for the Credit Control Manager
• Manage the Recording chase history and agreed payment timescales and keeping all systems up to date.
• Proactively resolving and monitoring any queries raised.
• Analysing and monitoring all assigned debtors and actively working to reduce debtor days.
• Prepare monthly arrears reports for the Board Pack
• Responsible for arranging Credit Control meetings and producing relevant reports required
• Collection forecasting when required
• Responsible for overseeing and monitoring finance collections and the sale of returned equipment
• Liaise with relevant parties to ensure payments are received in the required timescales
• Mentor and support the team in achieving their performance goals
• Closely monitor individual and team performance; providing feedback and coaching where required
• Annual and half year reviews
• Any other duties as directed by the Financial Controller
Person specification/ Skills for the Credit Control Manager
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to develop and maintain good relationships with all stakeholders, both internal and external
• Accuracy, honesty and attention to detail is essential
• Ability to work under pressure and to time limits and deadlines
• Excellent planning and organising skills with the ability to prioritise own workload; helping others to do the same
• Excellent IT skills including MS Excel and Word
• Extensive knowledge of credit control processes and procedures; preferably in a financial services environment
• Flexibility to deal with multiple customer accounts
• Good people management skills, approachable and with the ability to motivate the team to deliver against the requirements of the job
