Junior Account Manager

The company:

Our client is the world's leading marketplace focused on directly connecting small businesses to a wide range of investors. In 2010, they set out to revolutionise the banking system to get a better deal for everyone, and since then they have lent over GBP1.3bn to more than 15,000 businesses.

To businesses, they offer unsecured and secured loans to help grow their business, buy an asset or cover one-off costs. To investors, they offer great estimated returns on their capital and the ability to choose which businesses they lend to, as well as the knowledge that they are helping small businesses and the economy to grow.

Despite 6 years of successful growth, our client has worked hard to retain the best parts of a start-up environment, such as ping pong tables in the office, casual dress code and free drinks!

The role:

Our client is looking for energetic and personable recent graduates who are great communicators and share their passion for changing the financial world. You'll be confident in sharing your own ideas, and just as interested in listening to other people's ideas. Successful candidates will be hard-working fast learners who do whatever it takes to get the job done, but also know how to let their hair down.

Responsibilities:

* Managing inbound applications from UK businesses - from initial enquiry to acceptance of funds
* Building relationships with a variety of business owners via telephone and email
* Maximising the number of applications passed to the Credit team
* Liaising with the Credit team on a daily basis to see applications through to offer acceptance

Training and Development:

As a new joiner to the business, you will take part in a two week on-boarding and training programme that will equip you with a foundational knowledge and skill-set to carry out the responsibilities of the role. From here, your skills will be developed through direct learning from other team members, including shadowing opportunities that will make sure you are learning from the best.

External training is also offered within your first few months in areas that will complement the internal training and development opportunities.

There is great scope to progress within the company, with the opportunity for suitable candidates to move into a more senior Account Manager position after demonstrating success in the role.

Requirements (essential):

* 2:1 degree or above from a top UK university
* Strong desire to work in Account Management / Sales
* Strong business acumen and enthusiastic about working in an innovative area of finance. Knowledge of the finance industry would be advantageous.
* Excellent telephone manner and communication skills
* Exceptional time management skills and proficiency at multitasking
* Dynamic and KPI-driven
* Ability to work well under pressure
* Driven to succeed both individually and as part of a team
* Willing to "think outside the box" and suggest changes to improve efficiency
* Quick to learn, understand and explain complex concepts and products
* Highly personable, engaging and a good sense of humour

Requirements (preferred):

* EQ not just IQ
* Awareness of how the office and teams work
* Experience using SalesForce or other CRM systems
* Understanding of the sector and lending options available to small businesses
* Experience in a sales or customer-focused role (e.g. hospitality)
