ASSISTANT DEALERSHIP ACCOUNTANT (LONDON RETAIL OPERATION)

Department - Finance

Reporting to - Dealership Accountant

Salary - GBP26,000 to GBP30,000

Location - Brewery Road, London, N7

Given our ambitious and exciting growth plans for the future we are looking for an Assistant Dealership Accountant to join the team. We are looking for someone who is keen to develop their commercial and business acumen within a retail dealership environment. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic busy dealership and to deputise for the Dealership Accountant on occasions.

The role

The Assistant Dealership Accountant is responsible for supporting the Dealership Accountant with the production and interpretation of management information (MI) and ensuring the integrity of the underlying accounting records on which the MI is based.

Role responsibilities

Month end close
Production of the reporting pack for our parent company
Periodic stocktaking
Credit control
Internal and external audits
Bookkeeping, cashiering and purchase duties
Reconciliation controls and ledger maintenance
Draft the quarterly VAT return
Production of budgets and forecasts
The person

Previous experience from a local, regional or centralised motor dealership accountancy background would be an advantage
Good communication skills
Ability to build strong and sustainable relationships
Excellent organisational, analytical and decision making capability
Self-motivated, results orientated and team player
Strong project management capabilities and ability to work to deadlines
Knowledge of Kerridge Autoline V 8.35
Strong knowledge of Excel and HSBCnet
An experienced `qualified by experience' or those seeking a route to a professional/technical level accounting qualification (e.g. ACCA / AAT).
Some travel to our Coventry and Manchester Dealerships may be required
