A very established international company are looking for an experienced Credit Controller to join their friendly credit management department. This role is fundamental to the success of the team and you would be responsible for resolving all credit control queries for fleet customer accounts whilst delivering exceptional customer service. The position is varied and requires interaction with all departments of the business, at all levels. This role will contribute significantly to the department's objective to ensure payment is received in line with agreed settlement terms.
Responsibilities: -
* Take ownership of all queries until resolution is found and the customer is satisfied.
* To Log, resolve and take preventive action for all invoice queries.
* Produce invoice detail reports to the customer expectations.
* To raise correcting credit and debit notes.
* Develop strong customer relationships and confidence with regards query resolution.
* To produce required reporting. (Debt Management, Query Management, Credit Notes over 5K) plus others to deadlines.
* Ensure the correct authorisation is obtained before the release of rebates, returns and other high value documents.
* To support in the raising of sundry credit notes.
* To control and manage the past due levels on the ledger assigned to you. Contacting customers prior to payments becoming due.
* To set, monitor and maintain the credit limit for customer's accounts.
* Facilitate the daily cash sheet with our cash and banking team
* Ensure all monies are allocated timely.
* To be confident in attending a weekly review meeting with their distribution company as required, highlighting any issues or concerns we may have.
Candidate specification: -
* An understanding of finance and financial transactions, in particular sales ledger and credit management is essential.
* Excellent IT skills, experienced with Microsoft Office products, especially Excel, for good spreadsheet skills and Word. Experience of SAP would be an advantage.
* Good and effective communicator, with confidence of discussing matters over the telephone.
* Customer care skills, dealing efficiently and effectively with customers calls.
* Team player, flexible approach to work.
* Ability to prioritise work.
* Confidentiality.
* Excellent attention to detail with the ability to follow work through.
Salary GBP17-GBP18,000
Hours:9am - 5pm (35 hour week)
