Citi Recruit is working in partnership with one of the country's leading Maintenance companies to identify an experienced, highly skilled and qualified Benefits and Payroll Advisor to join their central HR team you will be working directly with the Payroll Manager.

As a Benefits and Payroll advisor on this contract you will be responsible for the day-to-day administration for a monthly payroll of approx. 700 employees, as well as the administration for their company benefits. You will be working closely with the HR Shared Services team and Finance to ensure that all payroll administration, queries and other matters are completed, liaising with external clients such as the HMRC and Pension Providers to ensure compliance in all areas. The successful candidate will provide a timely query resolution service on issues relating to payroll and benefit processing, ensuring that all staff are paid accurately and on time and that all statutory obligations are met.

Specific duties include:
• Ensure accurate calculation of various elements of payment types including, bonuses, salary increases, overtime, sick, maternity / paternity pay
• Thorough checking of monthly payroll reports.
• Understanding of payroll system to run reports.
• Working knowledge of RTI requirements
• Assist in Year End procedures - P60's.
• Understanding and assisting in P11D process and dealing with employees queries in relation to these.
• Calculating and processing out of cycle payments and making these payments to employee's when necessary
• Reconciling and paying pension payments to third party organisation
• Implementing and checking salary sacrifice schemes as required
• Running of the benefit processes, ensuring accuracy in all areas.
• Recommending and implementing changes, where authorised, to improve company Benefits at the point of renewal.
• Recommending and implementing changes to improve the administration of the benefits scheme.
• Manage the annual FLEX window (our flexible benefits timeframe), providing support to staff where required.
• To maintain compliance in all areas of the scheme and remain up to date on legislation.
• Reporting to the appointed providers on starters and leavers.
• Respond in a timely manner to employee questions regarding any benefit coverage via telephone and/or email and assist and advise employees regarding benefits claims issues and plan changes.
• Process Life style events for employees with changes during the year
• Co-ordinate the Director approval process for Holiday purchase scheme and cycle and computer scheme
• Manage implementation and adjustments made to Service Recognition Scheme with support from HR Shared Services
• Reconcile invoices for every benefit provided on a monthly and annual basis
• Run Process Manager monthly from Darwin and reconcile data with NGA (Northgate Resource Link - our integrated payroll HR Information System)
• Work with Marketing to carry out all benefit communication throughout the organisation for the FLEX window
• Report on statistics for use and take up of benefits

Requirements

• Demonstrable experience in administering a monthly salaried payroll (either as a dedicated payroll administrator or where this was part of wider duties). This experience should have been gained 'in-house' (rather than bureau). As part of your previous experience, you will demonstrate experience of administering and/or calculating benefits entitlements.
• It is essential that you have intermediate Excel skills and are able to use all Microsoft Office Packages.
• It is desirable that you have used Northgate Resource link (or an equivalent HR integrated payroll information system).
• A CIPP qualification would also be an advantage but is not essential.
