Manchester Airport Group are recruiting a Management Accountant to assist a busy Finance team through a transitional period involving a SAP implementation and a divisional restructure.
Initial periods will be until the end of March 2017, with the possibility of other opportunities arising along the way.
Reporting into a Senior Commercial Analyst, the role of the Management Accountant / Business Accountant is to produce month end schedules for a complement of assigned business units and provide support to business unit controllers thereafter.
Further specifics of the role involve:
* Production, analysis and presentation of monthly management accounts, in accordance with agreed timescales, for specific areas of the business;
* Processing of month-end financial adjustments. Review of costs and income and variance analysis to budget, outturn and prior year and inform Budget Holders at regular meetings;
* Production of commentary and analytical feeds into the Divisional Exec report;
* Review of reporting packs and performance with Finance Analyst
* Monthly Balance Sheet reconciliations and review, ensuring appropriate sign-off with Business Partners;
* Support to the Budgeting and Forecasting processes, working with Business Managers and Finance Analysts as required;
* Lead on reviews with Budget Holders for first draft, including detailed understanding and challenge of business priorities;
* Production and distribution of input templates and consolidation of returns;
* Review with Finance Analyst and Business Partners within appropriate timescales
* Development of financial models and on-going development of KPIs (financial and non-financial) as required to support operational decision-making;
This is a role which requires a knowledge and confidence in detailed monthly management accounting, someone who is able to really understand the detail relating to their assigned business units and can interpret this to budget holders to gain an understanding of patterns, trends and potential opportunities/risks.
The successful candidates will newly/qualified or similar, with experience of working with Oracle (ideal) and utilising Excel on a daily basis (essential). Similarly, he/she must be self motivated and solution orientated to establish strong working relationships with Finance Analysts, Business Partners and budget holders and be prepared to tackle new tasks and tackle continuous improvement projects
