About the role
To liaise closely with the department heads, including supervising a broad range of assignments within the portfolio. You will be responsible for overseeing the preparation of financial statements for Limited Companies, including large groups (both audited and non-audited), Incorporated and Unincorporated Charities from client records. Due to the nature of this work, a strong understanding of Financial Reporting Standards, Consolidation technique and UK GAAP is essential.
Responsibilities
??Ensuring compliance with UK GAAP and relevant accounting standards
??Sound knowledge of FRS102 required to consider the impact on transition for incorporated entities and to assist with an office wide plan for the implementation of FRS 102 for clients.
??Utilising Excel/Word and CCH AP 2 to produce working papers and financial statements
??To ensure that assignments are undertaken in accordance with the pre-assignment instructions, and to carry out the more rigorous aspects of the assignment efficiently, thoroughly and in accordance with the firm's procedures.
??To communicate any problems in complying with these instructions, or any contentious issues identified, to the assignment manager immediately, identifying and commenting upon the possible solutions.
??To liaise with other departments within the office, especially the audit team, to ensure that deadlines for the preparation of accounts in advance of audit is met, significant issues are resolved and the final adjustments are processed efficiently and in a timely manner.
??To practise the principles of excellent client service at all times. The position will involve significant client contact.
??Dealing with billing and other administrative issues relating to the portfolio
??Assist in staff training/supervision as required
??Willingness to travel to clients premises in the region as required.
The role requires
??ACCA/ACA Qualified
??Good experience of working in an AFR and/or Audit team, with at least 4 years practice experience.
??Experience of client liaison and supervision of junior staff.
??Software skills
??Excel
??Word
??Sage
CCH or similar professional accounting
