Commercial Account Handler - Newcastle, GBPExcellent
Salary:
GBP20,000 - GBP25,000 negotiable depending on experience and qualifications. Negotiable for the right person, competitive benefits on offer plus bonus.
Overview:
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Commercial Account Handler to join a highly regarded well established firm of insurance brokers in their Newcastle office.
Main Duties:
You will join a team of well-established account handlers and executives who focus specifically on the package and SME market, given your own portfolio of clients to service. The reason for the role is internal movement of the existing incumbent who will provide comprehensive training to the successful recruit. Key duties will be as follows:
- Handling package and SME business including shops, offices, pubs and property owners, clients holding in general 1 or 2 policies with the business. Premium sizes tending to be up to GBP10,000 per annum.
- Handling renewals of policies, sending out statements and checking for changes of details or any additional risks to be insured.
- Actioning midterm amendments and adjustments, accurately ensuring client details are exact.
- Lapsing clients and re-broking business when required.
- Building and maintaining excellent client relationships mainly over the telephone and email. Generating rapport and trust to encourage renewal and or expansion of portfolio.
- Utilising in house systems effectively as well as Microsoft Office Word, Excel and Outlook.
- All new business and claims are passed on to a separate department.
In return for experience in a role similar to the above, a competitive salary will be available along with a fantastic benefits package and training and development in the longer term. A discretionary bonus will be on offer along with study support towards industry exams.
Key Skills:
Previous experience in a commercial account handling role is essential, as is knowledge of a broking environment. Full or part completion of CII exams will put candidates at an advantage. A keen eye for detail, ability to organise prioritise as well as communicate effectively is essential for this role.
