Family Court Advisers (Children's Social Workers)
Cambridgeshire or South Lincolnshire

You became a social worker to make a difference; to spend time on work that has real impact. You want support to be the best you can be and to have a healthy work life balance.

Understanding and enabling this has made them Social Work Employer of the Year 2015 and winner of multiple flexible working awards.

Their Social Workers (Family Court Advisers) advise the Family Court as children and families go through significant events. Their public law cases are directed from the Local Authorities and involve children in or entering care. Their private law cases involve working with children whose parents/families are going through divorce or separation and are seeking resolution to residency/visitor orders or families going through adoption.

You'll use your Social Work skills to understand what the child needs, wants and feels and give advice to the family courts on the best course of action for the child. You'll write confidently, providing powerful and succinct case analysis and recommendations to the court. You'll make a real difference, representing childrens best interests in the Family Courts, ensuring their voice is heard in the court arena.

You will be social work qualified, registered with the HCPC as a social worker in England, and experienced at working with vulnerable children and families. You'll be an expert in safeguarding, child engagement, inter-agency working, case analysis, planning and recording.

Through their technology they enable you to work at home, court and in their offices (at Peterborough, Lincoln, Leicester and at Cambridge Court). Regular supervision from experienced managers ensures you can deliver your best and develop. Their talent management and career paths enable promotion opportunities for talented people.

Their work is demanding, so you will be resilient and organised, have the ability to work proportionately, with strong IT and excellent communication skills. In return, they offer a privileged role - being the voice in the family court for some of the most vulnerable children in England.
