Our client is looking an individual with a good solid understanding of Tax such as Corporation and R&D tax, an understanding of Capital Allowances, how a tax return is created etc.

In particular an understanding of the mechanics of R & D tax relief would be useful as would the ability to advise clients on how the claiming of R & D tax relief has impacted their corporation tax liabilities. Previous experience in building CT600's is essential and it would be useful if the successful candidate had done so using IRIS software. For this reason the role may be suitable for somone who has experience working in practice and who is looking to specialise

Ideally suit a part qualified ATT/ACCA individual with a strong understanding of the TAX/HMRC systems/processes together with exceptional communication skills to work within a fast growing business/team

You will be currently working in practice and maybe prefer to work in industry or for a tax consultancy, or someone who works in business with responsibility for the company tax returns, dealing with HMRC etc

Excellent opportunities to progress and part of your role will to be mentor another member of the team

Responsibilities

  • Review corporation tax computations received from clients , using IRIS accounting software
  • Liaise with client by telephone/email to explain the benefits to be realised from the work carried out
  • Discuss irregular/complex cases with Clients/Colleagues/HMRC Inspectors to reach resolution
  • Be the main point of contact throughout the Company with regards to amendments to client tax returns and realisation of benefits from tax claims/relief
  • Adhere to Company guidelines in relation to updating Client Record Management system and attending to tasks/duties in a proficient manner

Requirements

  • Part ATT or ACCA qualification
  • Work experience within a finance role
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and commitment to complete role to the highest possible standards
  • Great attention to detail with organised, thorough approach to all tasks
  • Computer literate with strong Excel skills
