The focus of our work is to help people progress towards a sustained independent lifestyle. We work with a wide variety of clients including substance misusers, offenders, teenage parents, people with mental health issues, people experiencing domestic violence, rough sleepers, etc

As a dedicated Payroll Professional, this exciting role will not only enable you to utilise your skills in a dynamic and fast moving environment, it will provide you with stimulating challenges and the opportunity to contribute to DISC's financial stability and success.

The Role
As our Assistant Payroll Officer you will support the Payroll Officer and Senior Finance Manager in all financial administrative aspects. You will be expected to:

* Check Mileage claims and input information on the payroll system
* Analyse credit card statement and input information on the finance system
* Make adhoc credit card transactions for employees as required
* Reconcile, control petty cash floats and upload information on to the finance system
* Investigate petty cash discrepancies across all projects and complete necessary reports
* Issue cheques, faster payments and make bacs transfers as and when required
* Set up all Direct Debits
* Post financial entries re petty cash, mileage, credit card transactions on the finance system
* Assist in payroll duties on a monthly basis and cover payroll officer if required
* Monitor KPI's and report back to the Finance Manager
* Any other duties as required by the Finance Manager

The above list of duties is not exclusive or exhaustive and the post holder will be required to undertake such tasks as may reasonably be expected within the scope and grading of the post.

The Candidate:
To be considered for our Assistant Payroll Officer role, you will have the following skills and experience:

* Excellent IT skills including fast and accurate use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook
* Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
* Ability to work accurately with figures and demonstrate high levels of attention to detail
* Flexible attitude to duties and ability to work as part of a team
* High organised and able to prioritise own workload
* Able to deliver work of a high standard to set deadlines
