East Sussex - Circa GBP40k-GBP45k - New Role in Hi-Growth Company

Our client is a global online clothing retailer based on the Sussex coast. With over 30,000 products, which ship to over 60 countries, they supply their young male audience with clothes they feel great wearing. Their websites attract several million unique visitors per year with active customers globally. Their vision is to continue to grow the company rapidly. With current rates of growth they will need to move their new warehouse operation in 3 years time. As this growth accelerates, it will bring issues on control and complexity that will challenge this new role, which has been developed to ensure the financial elements of the business remain robust

We will be pleased to provide our clients company name to qualified candidates at the end of the first screening telephone interview.

Reporting direct to the Finance Director, this new role is responsible for all the day-to-day finance operations and leading the small (but developing) finance team to manage the challenges of a business in rapid growth.

This will include:
•Cash flow
•Financial accounts and reporting
•Purchase and sales ledgers
•Customer transactions
•Payroll and pensions
•VAT and tax
•Monthly accounts - production and understanding
•Budgeting and forecasting
•Cost management
•Systems development and integration - SAGE

As the business grows in revenue, profits, scale, product mix and complexity, you will be responsible for developing internal systems that are appropriate to allow the business to flourish while risk is understood, judged, and managed.

The new role will excite those seeking a real commercial challenge that will develop their skills, experience, and, ultimately, their careers.

This new role will present a consistent flow of challenges as the business grows, so will require somebody with resilience. High growth businesses have the capacity to spring surprises and that's a distraction my client company is at pains to avoid.

Essential experience and attributes required:
•You will have either worked in a blue chip and an SME in a similar role, or will bring experience of a working in a high growth environment.
•Experience working in an international, multi-currency environment.
•Experience with Sage - or very similar
•Advanced spreadsheet and database experience
•The ability to run "Are you sure?" assessments and not just trust the numbers presented
•Confident with poise and charm, without being overbearing
•Happy to spend time in all corners of the business and to look under stones.
•Suitably qualified (ACA, ACMA, FCCA???.)
•Coach, mentor and train the finance team as it develops and grows.

As a member of the senior management team, you will be required to be a visible face of the business and contribute heavily to the character and culture of the business. This is a rare chance to join a company at an exciting stage of its growth phase. The right candidates will find this a motivating prospect.

Our client's operations are run from their base on the Sussex Coast.

Our client's new warehousing facility has the capacity to cope with their continued and impressive growth. All international operations are run from the UK except for some local logistics.

There are 40 working hours a week to be worked flexibly in line with the business needs and cycles.

Our client offers a basic salary in the region of GBP40k-GBP45k depending on skills and experience.

This is a growing organisation and promotion opportunities will arise for those who demonstrate the potential for personal growth.

The target start date is as soon as practically possible depending on notice periods. Before that will be a screening interview with Martin Ellis at Recruitment South East. Thereafter will be two interviews at our client's offices.
