My client is seeking an experienced Payroll candidate to join their thriving team

Previous experience within a Chartered Accountants is essential for this role.

PURPOSE

•To undertake the payroll function of the company in respect of client payroll preparation and CIS returns and ensure effective and efficient client service is achieved

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
To liaise with, and assist, the payroll manager in respect of the provision of the company's payroll and CIS service to clients as details below.
To arrange for all payrolls to be processed on time on a weekly/fortnightly or monthly basis
To ensure that clients receive their periodic payroll information including pay slips
To ensure that clients are informed of PAYE liabilities and any unpaid amounts on a monthly basis
To arrange, manage and control all CIS processing and advise clients accordingly in due course
To review any delegated payrolls and ensure these are dealt with in a timely manner
To deal with any client queries in a professional and timely fashion
To advise the directors of any issues arising within the payroll department that need addressing or that you consider are of cause for concern
To ensure that all year end forms are completed and submitted within the relevant deadlines including forms P35 and related documentation
To organise payroll files in an effective manner to allow ease of access and extraction of information
To manage holidays to ensure smooth running of the department in your absence
To ensure all payroll clients are kept on the Payroll software and a separate list kept of all payroll clients for monitoring/checklist purposes
To deal with client cheques payable to HMRC on the day received
To copy a director into all email correspondence with clients

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
A working knowledge of Sage Payroll or STAR Payroll would be preferable but not essential as training will be provided
Experience of working within a payroll bureau would be ideal
To keep up to date on payroll knowledge
To provide pro active advice and suggest information mailings to clients and potential clients
To have a good working knowledge of Word

To continue to develop the payroll department with the payroll manager and the directors
