Tax and Reporting Management Accountant - Aerospace, Defence, Large listed company.
Our client is a highly successful international company, they are looking for a Tax and Reporting Management Accountant. The position is to lead the Tax and Financial Reporting requirements for the UK group. This will include supervising a team of two people & managing payroll activities for approx. 400 employees. Supervise & manage general accounting activities including cash book & T&E. Maintain effective internal controls & ensure statutory and procedural compliance. Provide Management accounting and reporting support as required
As a Tax and Reporting Management Accountant your skills and qualifications will ideally include:
Qualified accountant ACA, ACCA (certified or chartered), preferably with a minimum of 2 years Post qualification experience working in a financial accounting department of a listed company.
Experience of preparing statutory accounts (UK GAAP & IFRS) and corporation tax computations.
Knowledge of payroll, flexible benefits arrangements, pensions & auto-enrolment.
Knowledge of HMRC's Senior Accounting Officer requirements.
Experience of designing and implementing process improvements & controls in line with industry best practice.
Proven team building and team leadership skills.
As a Tax and Reporting Management Accountant your main responsibilities will involve:
Supervise and manage the activities of the Assistant Accountant & Payroll/HR Officer.
Prepare Interim and Full Year statutory disclosures for group reporting purposes.
Prepare local statutory accounts for 3 entities (1 trading/2 non-trading).
Prepare Corporation Tax computations and other tax information requests for 3 UK entities and 1 US entity.
Update and maintain transfer pricing documentation.
Review & submit VAT, EC Sales and Intrastat Returns (UK, France & Germany).
Prepare Management accounting and reporting support as required & in particular for the Software Value Stream and 2 Non-Trading entities.
Prepare payroll related reconciliations.
Support internal and external audit requirements.
Play an active role and supporting continuous improvement initiatives, business change programs and other projects.
Manage and develop the team to provide standard best in class services.
Support the Finance Team and the Business with any other ad-hoc duties/projects
