Materials Buyer - Construction
Southampton
Salary GBP45,000 + Car Allowance + 25 Days Holiday
A respected residential developer based in Petersfield is searching for a materials Buyer to join the team.
This developer builds beautiful individual houses and flats across the south using traditional and modern techniques.
You will be joining a family run business where you will be responsible for all material and plant purchases for multiple sites across the south.
You will need to have a good knowledge of all construction materials, along with established relationships with a range of builders merchants. The main responsibilities of the role will be to confidently negotiate prices and terms with suppliers, being able to push back if there are any issues with quality or late deliveries.
Role Responsibilities
Negotiate prices and terms with suppliers.
Raise orders for all construction materials.
Source new suppliers, develop relationships with current.
Arrange all plant for projects.
Chase suppliers for delivery.
Liaise with site team.
Be the main point of contact for any material issues.
Resolve any invoice queries.
Experience Required.
Purchasing experience within construction.
Good knowledge of building materials.
Understanding of plant.
Confident negotiator.
