Our client is the UK's leading Engineering Support Services company employing over 27,000 people worldwide operating in the Defence, Mining & Construction, Rail, Nuclear, Energy, Property Management and Education & Training sectors.

They are currently recruiting for the position of Senior HR Business Partner, based in Plymouth, UK.

Job Description

* Develop, implement and embed strategic HR agenda for business area of responsibility.
* Provide input into the Business Unit HR strategy, and implement and embed where appropriate across business area of responsibility, along with divisional strategic initiatives for consistency of approach.
* Act as champion in communicating and embedding HR strategy, initiatives, policies and procedures across business area of responsibility, business unit or division, interfacing with divisional Technical Hubs as appropriate.
* Provide input to the design of HR policy, programmes, projects, methodologies and solutions in support of business' projects for greater co-ordination and consistency of approach.
* Support the execution of HR policy, programmes and projects across business area of responsibility.
* Provide expertise in excellent people leadership and management practice, using external knowledge and business insights to identify and drive change by analysing employee trends, behaviour and employee engagement.
* Produce management information, as required, in support of the business decision making process.
* Support the budget management process by providing input into financial reporting for the business' and HR P&L.
* Set the overall direction for a team of HR Business Partners. Act as a role model.

Skills and Experience

* Educated to degree level or equivalent relevant experience.
* Member or Fellow CIPD qualified is desirable.
* Significant generalist HR experience, demonstrating proven track record in delivering on the above accountabilities, and more specifically on driving the HR agenda through the design and delivery of a business-aligned strategic HR plan.
* Proven track record of delivering significant contribution to business strategy, and to designing and delivering HR strategies in large and complex organisations.
* Proven success in managing large-scale projects and complex change initiatives using appropriate methodologies.
* Significant experience in providing HR specialist input into acquisitions, business tenders and managing the transition of people in and out of a business according to TUPE legislation.
* Considerable experience in developing HR and line management capability to address complex and high risk disciplinary, grievance and welfare matters, and in presenting for and at tribunals.
* Demonstrable experience in resolving complex and high risk employee relations matters and in establishing and developing relationships with Trade Unions for ongoing positive interactions.
* Demonstrable evidence of developing and sustaining positive working relationships at a senior level, including the ability to negotiate and to influence business strategy.
* Significant evidence of cross-business networking, delivering speedy and proactive knowledge sharing is advantageous.
* Experiencing of having to deliver on the strategic HR plan through a HR Centre of Excellence/ Expertise and Shared Service Centre model.
* People management experience and HR consultancy expertise.
* Up to date knowledge of employment law.
* Significant experience of leading a HR Business Partner team.

This is a contract position.

The rate for this position is negotiable.
