Business Analyst (Business  Systems)

Swansea

£30k per annum

An experienced BA with a proven track record of delivery within the field of software development is required for a rapidly expanding leisure goods retailer based in Swansea.

Reporting to the Head of Business Systems Development, this new role will be involved in an array of business transformation related projects/tasks within a fast paced agile software development team.

Responsibilities of the successful Business Analyst:

  • Working in partnership with the project managers, other business analysts and clients to maintain client development roadmaps
  • Work with multiple internal clients to scope and specify enhancements to our internal business system software, including order management and warehouse systems
  • Create detailed Functional Specifications, and support the iteration and sign-off process of those documents
  • Work in partnership with the project manager and other business analysts to define and estimate project tasks
  • Act as the “go to” person during the development of the project for queries over the functional requirements and specification
  • Contribute to the test cycle for system enhancements, to ensure that all the functional requirements have been delivered
  • Keep the project team up to date with progress and issues
  • Operate within team procedures including signing off and evaluating completed projects/tasks

Required Skills and Experience of the Business Analyst:

  • Experience of working on multiple projects/tasks both large and small at any given time
  • Experience within anITdepartment with a good technical understanding of the software development process and IT terminology
  • Experience of working to strict deadlines and timescales
  • Ability to use and adopt various project management methodologies
  • Adaptable and flexible with changing business requirements
  • Able to work alone and within a team
  • Build effective working relationships with developers, testers and software end users
  • Remains consistently calm and professional under pressure
  • Diagnosis and understanding of common issues experienced by software end users
  • Self-motivated and proactive with a strong sense of customer service
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Appreciation of common issues experienced by software end users
  • Any background in development support, warehouse, call centre working processes would be advantageous
  • Experience of redeveloping/replacing existing business solutions

Salary:

  • A full time role of 40 hrs per week (Mon-Fri) with a pay grade of around £30k, depending on relevant skills and experience
