PR & Events Lead

About Atom Supplies:
An amazing opportunity to lead PR and Events for Atom Supplies - owner of award-winning brands including Master of Malt, Ableforth’s (Bathtub Gin), Drinks by the Dram and That Boutique-y Whisky Company.
Our brands win tonnes of awards (check out the brands’ websites for details) and our customers tell us we’re doing a fantastic job - so there’s a lot to work with, but still plenty of opportunity to do more.
In the past year we’ve upped our branding and brand awareness significantly, pulling off some of the most well-received and engaging stands at events like London Cocktail Week and Taste London with our Ableforth’s brand - but we need someone to take us to the next level, to scale the team so that we can expose even more people to our amazing products, and to capitalise on all that good news with efficiently targeted PR campaigns.
About The PR & Events Lead Role:
- To own the PR and events budget and to develop strategies to maximise long-term brand and direct response metrics;
- to integrate this strategy across all channels; and,
- to develop the team and toolset to add scale, measurement and polish.
The events and PR team will need to grow significantly, and we’re looking for the person that can make that happen.
All of the above responsibilities apply across all of our brands.
About the Successful PR & Events Lead:
You are gregarious, but also commercial. You could talk to anyone in the industry for hours about our brands and about spirits culture in general, but you know that you need to focus your attentions on those with whom we can have the most mutually productive relationship. You insist on measuring the output of your activity so that you can justify doing a whole load more of it.
You have amazing contacts, and you're not afraid to use them. You have your ear to the ground so you know about the most exciting upcoming releases and industry events, and you can work collaboratively with others in the industry to create promotional opportunities.
As soon as something exciting makes its way into our development pipeline, you’ll already have the names of those that you’ll be itching to talk to in mind; you’ll be planning your breakfast meetings; you’ll be planning the launch event; you’ll have the press release written; you’ll have spoken with our digital marketing team to make sure our news will be syndicated through those channels; and you’ll be planning the post launch wrap-up, including numerical analysis and process refinements to make sure we do an even better job next time. Phew!
You could never do as well applying your trade for a retailer of laptop SSD cards, because you don’t give a frig about SSD cards. You’re passionate about drinks and drinks culture, and this role excites you purely on the basis that you get to spend your time in, around and talking about it…
...and that’s a very good thing, because this isn’t a standard 9-5 job. You’ll need to flex your week around standard office days and manic weekends and evenings setting up, running, and breaking down stands at events.
There’ll be a shortlisting process to whittle down the stack of CVs. At that point you’ll have a face-to-face or telephone interview with the Marketing Director and Marketing Manager. After that stage we’ll do a series of practical tests (taking no longer than a couple of hours to complete, in your own time) and a second stage interview with more of the team and maybe another director.
If you feel that you meet the criteria of a PR & Events Lead then please apply!
