Social Worker and Safeguarding Lead

£28,624 to £33,538 (Open to discussion subject to experience and skills)

Our client is looking for a Social Worker to join their young people’s service; you must have at least two years’ experience and be HCPC registered. You will bring your own unique skills, experiences and ambitions for high quality, innovative ways of meeting the needs of some of our most vulnerable children and families in Norfolk.

The successful candidate will be based in our client’s City and South team in Norwich, working directly with young people and their families to provide support around substance misuse.

You will manage a caseload of complex clients, utilising specialist knowledge for appropriate interventions, needs assessment and care planning. The role will carry out high quality assessments and use child-centred, community-focused and multi-agency interventions to bring about positive change through developing effective relationships to secure the best outcomes for young people.

Additionally, you will act as the Safeguarding Lead for the service, working across Norfolk. You will help to advise staff on safeguarding concerns, further developing our safeguarding processes and embedding Signs of Safety into our everyday practise.

We are looking for a qualified social worker who has:

• Relevant demonstrable experience of working as a Social Worker and intervening in young people and families’ lives
• Experience of using Signs of Safety approach in working with children, young people and their families
• Experience of working in multi-agency and multi-disciplinary teams with client groups
• Qualifications in Practice Educator Professional Standards (PEPS) or is willing to train for these
• The ability to work effectively in a team setting, to help develop educational sessions and to promote the service.

The post will involve working alongside the service’s leadership team to ensure effective implementation of best practice.
