Assistant Communications Manager

A superb career opportunity has arisen for an experienced communications / marketing professional to join the creative team of award-winning retail healthcare company Boots Hearingcare, as an Assistant Communications Manager.

Working as part of the wider Marketing and Communications Team, as the Assistant Communications Manager your responsibilities and duties will be varied to include although not be limited to;

  • Delivering a strategic calendar to create on-brand key messages which will maintain awareness and build confidence amongst colleagues
  • Monitoring and maintaining internal communication channels including email, colleague forums and the intranet
  • Briefing external agencies on design work
  • Identifying cost saving opportunities across the business
  • Assisting with the production of basic written copy as required

To be considered for this Assistant Communications Manager role you MUST have the following experience, knowledge, skills and attributes;

  • Proven experience gained within a busy marketing function, ideally with a focus on communications
  • Superb organisational skills with the ability to meet deadlines and manage time effectively whilst multi-tasking with various projects
  • Ability to lead negotiations with print suppliers confidently
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • IT literacy, with expert knowledge of Microsoft Office and the ability to present data using Excel and PowerPoint
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Ability to develop good working relationships with suppliers and internal and external stakeholders
  • Basic design skills, with good working knowledge of Photoshop

Knowledge of print production processes would be advantageous, although not essential.

Salary:                          £24,000 - £26,000 per annum

Excellent Benefits:        Pension scheme and life assurance cover, Boots discount card after completion of probationary period, childcare voucher scheme, and annual leave entitlement of 20 days plus statutory rising with length of service increments to a maximum of 30 days per annum, plus statutory holidays.

Contracted Hours:         Full time, 37.5 hours per week

Hours of Work:             Monday to Friday, 9.00am – 5.00pm
