Our client’s busy Transport division is high profile and a varied working environment which is pivotal to the success of the business.

Transport Co-ordinator:
As the Transport Co-ordinator, you will ensure that requests for transport service are captured, recorded accurately and responded to in-line with the previously agreed internal or external customer requirements whilst striving for efficiencies and service excellence. Working closely with Drivers, Internal Depots and Customers, you will plan the deliveries/collection of recycled metal in-line with safety standards and the company’s core business values.

Previous experience of effectively routing vehicles in a cost efficient and safe manner will be essential. You will also promote a strong Health and Safety work ethic and ensure the business remains compliant with transport policies, procedures and legislation.

The Person Spec: 
You will be an exceptional organiser and communicator, with previous vehicle routing experience to ensure you can prioritise and make decisions quickly. It will be key to develop good working relationships with the drivers, internal staff and customers to ensure an efficient process as possible. A good understanding of the EU drivers hours and working time directive is expected and any qualifications relating to CPC, IOSH or LGV Licenses (Cat C or Cat C+E) would be of interest, although not essential.

It is essential all of our client’s Transport staff are safety conscious and have a good appreciation/awareness of the company’s unique working environment. Applicants should be customer focused and good communicators as they will interact with a wide range of internal and external staff.
