An exciting contract opportunity (initially 3-6 months) for a Quality Controller with a small, highly successful company in its seventh year of trading, planning for the next stage of its expansion. Headquartered in Hungerford with rapidly growing development and technical facilities in London and Cambridgeshire, the Company develops and delivers cutting-edge integrated online transport management solutions, selling both hardware solutions and related hosted software services.

The successful candidate will be based in Cambridge but regular visits will be required to the Company's manufacturing partners in Cambridge and Reading.

The role's requirement is to establish a manufacturing process that can provide high quality, reliable products in volume repeatedly every day. This requires a person that has the relevant experience and qualifications in all aspects of quality control and auditing. The candidate will have to identify areas that need to be improved and to implement changes that will enable the required quality of product to be made in volume. The role requires a candidate that is self motivated, has a strong character, has good inter personal skills and does not accept second best.

Main Responsibilities will be:

Review and audit the company's manufacturing partners quality systems to establish 'best practice' to ensure products are manufactured to a consistently high standard and are fit for purpose.

Define and advise on changes, techniques and provide training on how to implement them to enable the company's manufacturing partners to achieve the required quality standards.

Ensure all products can be delivered to the company's customers without affecting the quality or reliability of the products delivered.

Establish a quality control audit system to monitor and advise on the performance of the quality management system, gather data and report on performance, measuring against set standards.

Liaise with other managers and staff throughout the company and its manufacturing partners to ensure that the quality management system is functioning properly.

Ensure that manufacturing or production processes meet international and national standards.
