Our client builds more than 1,000 houses a year are part of a Group of companies and are expanding in a rapid, controlled manner throughout the North and Midlands. They are currently opening Area Offices at the rate of one a year.

They now have an exciting opportunity for a Buyer to join them to maximise profits through effective management of the supply chain in accordance with the Commercial procedures.

Reporting to the Commercial and/or Regional Director, you will ensure that all materials are bought in line with budgetary requirements, placing all relevant orders in line with time parameters and programmes, and in accordance with relevant drawings, specifications, site conditions etc.

Monitoring material budgets alongside the Quantity Surveyor, you will attend both start up and periodic meetings to discuss company and regional buying policy and measure the performance of suppliers, suggesting any changes as deemed appropriate.

In the role you will also be responsible for inputting data, budgets and monitoring costs whilst dealing with all matters relating to materials, ensuring you improve on value for money, efficiency and site wastage.

Our client is looking for an experienced individual who possesses a background in Buying/procurement, ideally gained within the house building/construction industry. With good knowledge of market rates and strong negotiating and communication skills, the successful candidate will be a team player and have the ability to adapt to changing situations and developments within the business.
