Multi-Skilled Engineer – Oxford
Multi- Skilled Engineer(s) required Immediately for international Facilities Management & Construction Services company.
Roles will be working for key Health client in Oxford. Skill focus is primarily Electrical &/OR Fabric Engineering.
The safe operation and maintenance during the working day and act as part of a rotating shift pattern if required of all plant and equipment within the hospital site. Carrying out a wide range of repairs and new works to a high standard. Working on own initiative when applicable or as part of a team.
Supporting Estate supervisor and management team to ensure contractual response and rectification times are met.
Fully competent in the fault diagnosis, repair and testing of all plant equipment.
Skilled in the hands - on repair of all plant and equipment within the limits of their trade, having the ability to fault find, diagnose and repair using their technical knowledge on equipment.
Interpret and work from instruction, drawings and specifications appropriate to the trade without constant supervision
Attend training courses as required
Be adaptable to the introduction of new technology
Carry out repairs/ new work to a high level of skill, conforming to Regulations / HTM and ACOP requirements
Observe all statutory and legal requirements, particularly in relation to Health & Safety at Work Act / HTM’s/HBN’s
Leave work areas clean and tidy at all times
Demonstrate a clear and ongoing commitment to inter-trade flexibility
Have ability and willingness to work across trades within the sphere of their technical competency, e.g. Minor mechanical repairs and making safe building fabric etc
Develop good working relationships with clinical and non-clinical staff at all levels
Provide instruction and guidance for maintenance assistants and apprentices, on all aspects of plant and equipment in order to develop their skills and knowledge
Responsibility for service activity for ensuring compliance with all relevant Health and Safety legislation and site specific health, safety and welfare policies.
Use of IT systems to provide/ monitor data within the Quality Assurance and other management reporting systems
Ensuring data is provided for and input into the Facilities Management Monitoring tool.
Any other appropriate duties as requested by management
Through knowledge and understanding of the systems contained within the Hospital to be able to perform a range of engineering duties safely and efficiently as requested by management
To service, test, diagnose, repair and calibrate engineering plant equipment
To service, test, diagnose repair and calibrate specialist plant and equipment including sterilisers / de-contamination equipment
Undertake training and appointment to act as Authorised Person as identified by Line Manager.
Carry out new and small works in accordance with legislation, HTM’s, HBN’s. ACOP’s and Best Industry practice.
Knowledge of procedures for electrical/mechanical repair and maintenance. BTEC ONC Level of City and Guilds plus relevant post apprenticeship training or equivalent experience
Electrical/mechanical knowledge, skill and ability to carry out minor repairs within their skill base.
Problem solve technical issues, fault diagnosis and solution finding
Plans and priorities own ongoing maintenance activities.
Occasional indirect exposure when on Wards and Clinical Areas
Maintains and repairs PFI properties and equipment
Day to day supervision of maintenance assistants, apprentices, checks, evaluates work
Records personally generated information
Updates maintenance record
Must live within commutable distance of Oxford.
In return you will receive a competitive base salary of £23k to £30k (dep on experience), on call allowance, overtime + comprehensive benefits package.
