We support all elements of digital display technology, from the simple supply of qualified hardware to complete product creation to meet a specific client brief. Our use of 3D CAD for product creation, our ability to prototype and small batch manufacture within the UK and our volume manufacturing scalability in Asia means solutions for all size of projects.

Hardware supply is only one element: managing a digital signage deployment can be a complex process. Our professional site installation, content creation and distribution, service and support functions enable Scion Interactive to provide a truly “end to end” service, reducing the need for customers to invest in “in house” resource.

The Technology & Software Solutions Manager Role:

To manage the delivery of post-installation services to customers, by maintaining a robust and available IT infrastructure, ensuring content is deployed in line with customer requirements, and leading on the development of innovative additional commercially driven services and software tools.


This is a key new role, ensuring our IT infrastructure can deliver services reliably and effectively to customers, whether that be content management or other services. You will have management responsibility for maintaining a responsive service desk to maximise availability of connected devices as well as for leadership of the content management team. Services to our customers continue to evolve as do the platforms for delivering them, and you will have a pre-eminent role in specifying these and planning their delivery.
Main responsibilities will be:

Software and Solutions:

+ Work with third party developers and other outsourced providers to put in place software and service solutions as needed
+ Advise on when to use outsourced providers and when to manage requirements in house Manage third party software relationships, quality and costs
+ Review software and service needs ensuring they are in line with development of the business and propose novel solutions to maintain a competitive edge
+ Develop knowledge of different CMS products and their respective strengths and disadvantages to enable effective technical solutions for customers
+ Help define the software roadmap required to meet customer requirements in the most effective way

IT Infrastructure:

+ Optimise the technical AV infrastructure (how will media players be connected and monitored and content deployed)
+ Deploy tools and make interventions as required to maximise network uptime
+ Plan for site connectivity, or alternative solutions and monitor and report on network health
+ Identify trends in faults for possible improvements in infrastructure
+ Ensure adequate data storage for content files, with secure backup facilities


+ Manage, motivate and develop the content management team
+ Ensure the content management team meet customer requirements, have clear and effective processes and reporting structures
+ Develop effective and creative content to Scala/CMS systems and deploy in line with customer requests
+ Generate commercially effective content solutions for customers and internal needs

After Sales Support:

+ Manage, motivate and develop the service desk team
+ Establish after sales support arrangements, including SLA, KPIs, fault remediation in line with contractual agreements
+ Pro-actively manage potential technical issues
+ Assist with troubleshooting site connectivity, power or technical issues (during installation)
+ Troubleshoot site connectivity, power or technical issues (post)

Person specification:

+ Educated to degree level in a relevant discipline or qualified by experience in a relevant role within either audio visual or digital signage industry or where technology is used as point of sale.
+ Knowledge of digital content management systems, preferably including HTML5 and other signage management solutions
+ Technically proficient with proven knowledge and experience of servers, networks, connectivity, routers, cloud computing etc
+ Professional and engaging with experience of leading and motivating a small technical team
+ Experience of working as part of a senior management team defining network infrastructure for connected customer screens and leading on IT strategy for small company
+ Sound process management experience in introducing and managing an effective service desk and leading a content management team
+ Able to extract key information from system performance data and summarise for the senior team and customers.
+ Drive and desire to demonstrate up to date awareness of relevant technical trends and apply them creatively
+ Strong communication and presentation skills

Remuneration package:

+ Hours of work: 08:30 to 17:00 (with 1 unpaid hour for lunch), Monday - Friday
+ Salary: c.£45,000 per annum,
+ Discretionary bonus based on company performance
+ Generous Company pension (pending introduction of Auto Enrolment)
+ 28 days’ holiday (including public holidays), with an additional day for each year of service for up to 5 years
+ Life insurance plan after 12 months’ service
