JOB TITLE: Support Worker
SALARY & BENEFITS: GBP7.62 per hour with excellent career progression opportunities
WORKING HOURS: Full or part time (up to 37.5 hours)
Early shift 07.15 - 14.45 Late shift 14.30 - 22.00 Sleep-ins 22.00 - 07.15
THE COMPANY: We are pleased to be working with one of the largest charities nationally who are dedicated to providing high-quality, personalised support to adults with learning disabilities. For the last 25 years their reputation has been built upon their values, passion and commitment to enable people with Learning Disabilities to live active and fulfilling lives.
THE ROLE: We support five females in their own homes. They all have learning disabilities and their own specific needs and can demonstrate challenging behaviour. They all enjoy accessing the community and engage in a variety of activities.
We support these individuals to live as independently as possible and this involves helping them to carry out all the tasks involved in daily life including personal care, shopping and meal preparation, housework, managing their home and finances and supporting them to be as active as they want in the local community.
Key Responsibilities -
- Social and emotional support, either at home and/or in my local community
- Support with their shopping, assist with budgeting,
- Building/maintaining relationship with friends and family
- Household tasks including cooking, cleaning and laundry
- Going out for walks, drives, swimming and other activities that people supported may want to experience.
THE CANDIDATE: We know this is a challenging role, so we are hoping to find resilient people who can see this as more than job - this is a chance to make a real difference, that will not only enrich someone else's life but also yours.
We are looking for female staff who are patient, confident, pro-active with a good sense of humour who can empathise with the difficulties these individuals present and are committed to supporting them on the bad days as well as the good. Experience in a similar role, or an understanding of autism and complex behaviour would be an advantage but is not essential.

Key experience essential for the role:
- Empathy, caring and sensitivity to the needs of others
- Full UK driving licence
Previous experience working as Home Carer, Care Worker, Health Care Assistant, Support Worker, Nurses, Social Care Worker, Care Assistant, Mental Health Care Worker, Voluntary Worker are all desirable but not essential as full training will be provided.
