LOCATION: Totley, Sheffield


JOB TITLE: Assistant Activities Organiser (Service based)


SALARY & BENEFITS: GBP7.20 per hour (over 25) & Benefits & weekend enhancements


WORKING HOURS: Permanent -Part Time (up to 21 hours a week, flexible to be discussed with candidate at shortlisting stage)



THE COMPANY: Our client is the UK's leading charity supporting disabled people. For over 65 years they have supported disabled people in many different ways. Their Nursing home in Totley, Sheffield looks after young people with a range of physical disabilities, learning disabilities and complex needs.



THE ROLE: Assistant Activities Organiser- Totley, Sheffield


My client is looking for a fun and enthusiastic person with good communication and organisational skills to provide assistance and support to young people with a range of physical disabilities, learning disabilities and complex needs. A genuine interest in motivating and supporting people to engage in a range of activities is essential as is the ability to plan and develop individual activity programmes. IT skills and knowledge would be useful. No experience necessary as full training will be given.



Key Responsibilities to include:- Assistant Activities Organiser- Totley, Sheffield


  • To assist in the implementation and fulfilment of each service users' Individual Service Plans
  • To assist service users to identify venues/pursuits of interest and organise outings, liaising with the activities team and other departments where necessary
  • To act as escort and/or driver on outings
  • To liaise with therapists and other members of the activities team on issues of common interest
  • To undertake additional responsibilities as requested by the Service Manager following the successful completion of specific training and personal skills development


Key Experience preferred for the role:- Assistant Activities Organiser- Totley, Sheffield



- Experience in a similar role/activities organising role highly desirable but not essential


- Experience of working with disabled people is would be advantageous


- To be willing to undertake required training (including updates), sometimes off site and outside normal working hours.


- Good basic literacy and numeracy and basic IT skills


- An engaging manner with ability to build rapport with people.


- Passion, enthusiasm and a real commitment to make a difference to people lives


- A reliable approach to work
