HGV Night Shift Supervisor

Fergusons Transport is actively seeking to employ a skilled and experienced HGV Night Shift Supervisor for our Washington facility.

The ideal candidate will have recent experience as a Shift Supervisor and will have good organisational and man management skills. In addition, a "hands on" approach is required.

Working on a mixed fleet of manufacturers Class 1 and Class 2 vehicles and associated trailers, the successful applicant will be required to undertake all aspects of vehicle maintenance and repair.

Job duties and responsibilities include: supervising technicians and delegating workloads n the work shop; ensuring smooth running of all jobs carried out to the company standard; quality checking technicians work; ensuring "work in progress" deadlines are met and carried out in a cost effective manner; adhering to the company Health & Safety Regulations to prevent accidents in the workplace; 6 weekly vehicle inspections; general servicing; pre-planned maintenance; reactive maintenance; MOT preparation and presentation; correction of running defects; full vehicle overhauls and engine / gear box repairs; diagnostics.

In order to qualify for this exciting role you must have the following: Full industry recognised qualifications (City and Guilds / NVQ Level 3 in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair); have served a full apprenticeship; Be able to undertake all aspects of vehicle maintenance and repair; have knowledge of modern haulage vehicles. A Class 1 HGV Licence is beneficial for this role.

Hours of work are Tuesday to Friday 20:30 to 07:00. Hourly Rate: £12.50 + overtime and other benefits.
