Salary: £20,456 to £28,203 per annum plus an annual market supplement of £3,000 and essential car allowance of £1,239 per annum.

The organisation is a public service body proud of its built heritage and nationally important landscapes that provides planners with complex and rewarding challenges through a mix of urban and rural environments.
They are looking for a Planning Officer to join their busy planning enforcement team.
Working at the forefront of the council's planning service this role will give you a good grounding in the enforcement process and also offers the opportunity for you to gain experience in development management and planning policy; so whether you are at the start of your career or more experienced, you'll gain valuable insight and knowledge of the planning process and procedures.
As the successful candidate, you will contribute to the control of development in the District working in partnership with the South Downs National Park Authority to maintain a high quality environment as a place to live, work and relax. You will be responsible for investigating, enforcing and monitoring planning breaches throughout the rural and urban areas of the District while maintaining excellent customer service levels and consistently hitting targets.
Key Requirements:
The successful candidate will preferably have some practical planning experience and/or have a related degree (or equivalent) or a recognised planning qualification; in addition you will be IT competent and have the ability to work as part of a team as well as on an individual basis and have strong numerical, organisation and communication skills. You'll be offered a salary of £20,456 to £28,203 per annum (depending upon experience), plus an annual market supplement of £3,000 and essential car allowance of £1,239 per annum. You may also be eligible for assistance with relocation expenses.
