Interpretive 3D Designer – Heritage Consultancy, Design and Delivery

As an Interpretive 3D Designer reporting to our Design Associate/Director, you’ll be primarily responsible for the delivery of strategic design projects, managing processes and information to deliver concept, detailed/finalised and production design stages, in liaison with the project manager. Updating and communicating to deliver all outputs, you’ll also oversee delegation to design support (internal or sub-contractor) and our 2D designer on a task-by-task basis. In addition to project administration, other key accountabilities as Interpretive 3D Designer include:
- personal time monitoring to deliver projects to programme
- general support for proposals and marketing materials
- personal administration
- acting as an ambassador for PLB.
With a professional qualification(s) and sector specialist skills in 3D design, including free-hand sketching, visualisation and CAD (Vectorworks), you must have a proven design track record for both permanent and temporary exhibitions, underpinned by an interest in and understanding of the heritage sector. With knowledge of DDA and the application of best practice in design, you always deliver on time and on budget. Computer-literate in design software packages and MS Office, you’re a strong all-round communicator, presenter and report-writer, with first-class people skills for client and contractor liaison. Business aware and with an understanding of construction, materials and cost, as Interpretive 3D Designer you can also offer:
- good people management skills
- a full, clean, valid UK driving licence
- willingness to travel if required.
