A key role has arisen at our Trafford Park Facility for a Logistics Co-ordinator.

What will I be responsible for?

Working at the Trafford Park Logistics Unit, the successful Logistics Coordinator will manage and control all dry waste collection activities and be responsible for the collection fleet, drivers, crew and support staff whilst working closely with the Sales function to maximise profitability of the site. Your daily responsibilities will include:
  • Manage, with the aid of Logistics Team, the day to day operation of the Trafford Park collection operations, ensuring that all Health and Safety, Road Transport, Environmental, Employment and other applicable legislation is adhered to.
  • Plan and control the fleet operations ensuring the co-operation and co-ordination of all required activities to maximise efficiencies and profitability
  • To allocate and control vehicles including subcontractors efficiently to meet the operational requirements, and ensure that the level of resources are adequate to meet day to day requirements
  • To ensure direct reportees are fully compliant with all company policies and procedures, and where failings occur to take appropriate action in consultation with the Human Resources department
  • To liaise closely with the Regional Logistics Manager and produce financial information for the production of monthly profit and loss accounts and the accurate forecasting of site performance
  • Liaise with the Sales and Account Development teams to provide information and costing for new and existing work. The targeting of sales development areas to maximise efficiencies for the flee.
Who are we looking for?

As the ideal Logistics Coordinator, you will have the following skills and experience:
  • Hold a full CPC in road transport
  • Proven negotiating skills
  • Ability to route vehicles effectively taking into account profit and productivity
  • Full knowledge of Road Transport and Environmental legislation
  • An excellent working knowledge of the waste and recyclate market within the specified geographical area
  • Previous experience of customer experience management and strategy
  • A Full Driving Licence is essential to the role
