Clinical Lead Nurse (RGN or RNLD)
Our client’s family are looking for a full time Clinical Lead Nurse (RGN or RNLD) in the Battle area of East Sussex to lead ‘S’s current team. From £38,000 per annum dependant on experience, our client is happy to help source accommodation for applicants outside of their geographical area.
“S” is a 20-year-old young man and whilst he has considerable care needs, has the most wonderful personality and sense of humour. “S” regularly attends a further educational establishment twice a week. He likes to go out daily to different local areas and enjoys eating out in different places and enjoys being taken out by his team in his car people watching. Whilst unable to verbalise his communication “S” is very able to make himself understood through signs and noises.
“S” is wheelchair dependant and requires fully assisted 24-hour care, which includes medication and fluids via a naso-gastric tube: he requires tracheal suction and the management of very severe seizures when these occur. At all times, “S” has a Registered Nurse and carer working together.
Whilst past experience of working with severely disabled young people is desirable, your personality, enthusiasm and flexible approach to the requirements of the position are also of significant importance. Your ability to work in a family home and to liaise effectively with the parents of “S” is of crucial importance also. Full training will be provided.
As Clinical Lead Nurse you will be expected to cover 3 shifts per week on a rolling rota of days and nights on a permanent employed basis. The Lead Registered Nurse will be expected to lead the care staff and nursing team to include supervision, organising staff rotas and the coordinating the training programme for all the staff.
Working hours are currently managed on a 12-hour day/night shift basis plus a short handover, over 7 days a week.
